What's the 'big deal'?

Forgive me, Michelle, but I find it SO much easier to answer you in an entire post than the comment section. If it bothers you, I will stop!=)

Okay, first of all I don't think you are "going bonkers" as you say, I think you have come up with some good points.;) And I agree with you that IF the Arwen/Eowyn debate gets out of hand, that it should stop. I REALLY do! But I however do not think that the Arwen/Eowyn debate is pointless. Here me out please.;)

I have a friend who I love very dearly who prefers Eowyn over Arwen, not because she believes Eowyn is "better", but because she related to Eowyn more!(she had been through a very tough time). And that didn't bother me in the least! Because I knew that she didn't have the kinda attitude that Eowyn did, you know, going out to war, ect.

I'm not saying that Eowyn is a completely wicked person(well, granted we ALL are;), its just after you've been to a bunch of forums of people talking about Eowyn is a great "role-model", that kinda ticks me off.:/ Because when they are speaking of her, they are not talking about when she changes and marries Faramir, they are talking about how she snuck out in Battle, and how she had the "strength to rebel".

That's when it first started to drive me crazy. "The Strength to Rebel". They were taking all of Eowyn's faults(hopefully me & you are on the same page of feminism;) and making her look like some heroine!

You mentioned David, and I love David! But not because he committed fornication!

What I am TRYING to say(not sure I'm coming put real clear;) is that a lot of the people I know(some in real life) are liking Eowyn for all the wrong reasons!

So you see, its not that I have a PROBLEM with people liking Eowyn, what my problem is why they like her that bothers me.=)

So...I think that pretty much sums it up! Oh, another thing! Actually, Arwen is NOT my role-model...:) If we are talking about Middle-earth Galadriel would be my role-model any day!(that's why I was so happy when I came out as her in a quiz!;) But when it all comes down to it our role-model should be Jesus Christ.:)

Oh, ONE more thing!! Concerning Legolas/Shampoo/Hair jokes!=) I don't get mad when I see people who make these jokes, because most of the time they don't where it originally came from!

I don't make these kind of jokes because it was first started by a Homosexual who wanted to fit Sodomy in Middle-earth.:/ So...that's why I don't make them! But I'm not offended when people who have no idea where it started make them.;) BUT, if you ever see someone who gets mad at these jokes, just remember they are probably getting mad because of the Homosexual business.:/

Anxiously awaiting your reply,

The power of a soft answer

I'll never forget the time when I about 10/11 year's old I was having a "debate" with my "rival" Jenny McLoy. She as about 11/12, and we were having an argument on women pursuing careers. Our debates did have the right to be called debates, all we were doing was just yelling back & forth at each other getting angry.=)

It was then when my mom pulled me aside and asked me what we were arguing about. I explained to her that I believed that it was wrong for women to pursue careers, and therefore if I believed it, it must be right!

Now this post isn't going to be a Feminism vs. Femininity post, this post is going to be about a comment I received;

you know, I have seen a lot of people being rude and mean about this really stupid debate... what about the Bible? You seem to have forgotten the BIBLE and you're worshiping LotR... not the Lord... does it really matter who likes who? Please, honestly read your Bible instead of LotR all the time, or at least, give proof of your salvation: I know you claim Him as Lord, but the posts you write seem to say that 'LotR saved me'

Whoa. I must confess that I was completely shocked.;-)

Why? Because someone who doesn't even know me seems to have judged me and found all faults.:) Okay, that was a bit overly dramatic.;P

I once had a "blog" on LiveJournal, and all I posted about was my life/church/Bible. ect. Which there is nothing wrong with! I enjoyed doing so, but what I later found out was that people had went to my profile and saw that I liked LotR, and thought,"Oh this girl isn't really a Christian, because she likes LotR the 'satanic trilogy'."

So that's why I decided to have a blog dedicated to LotR and WHY I liked it, and WHY I believed it was NOT satanic. For people who misunderstood read HERE. If you want me to talk about something else, just say the word!!=)

God has dealt(and will continue to;) with many things on my heart. One of my two biggest issues was 1. Pride, and 2. Anger. Those two just sorta seem to go together don't they? Because of my PRIDE I got ANGRY.

I have found out that if I go a day without my Bible, I will become moody, depressed, grouchy, mean, and ect. That's why, Michelle, I actually read it three times a day, and not just LotR.;)

I am one of the worst of people, and I'm not trying to deny it. I'm a SINNER SAVED BY GOD'S GRACE! Not Lord of the Ring's grace. Because LotR will soon pass away, BUT I made this blog for the FUN of it! Not because LOTR is my Saviour. There are a lot of things in the blogging world that are pointless...TAGS for example! Being 'tagged' is a fun thing to do, BUT in Eternity it won't matter. I hope I'm making 'sense' here.=)

After recovering from the 'shock' of Michelle's comment, I thought of this Bible verse:

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

So, if I've come across as rude, angry, hateful, mean, selfish, I apologize and beg for your forgiveness! Because I know that I am human and will make many mistakes in life, and later have to pay for them.

If there are any doubts about my Salvation, let me confirm it right here.

I am saved and when I say this I mean that I am a sinner and when I was 8 7 year's old I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me. And I confessed that I was a sinner. And I believed on His name.

For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. Psalms 25:11

~The Lady of Light.

P.S. Please know, Michelle, that I am not mad at you in the LEAST.=) And I hope you are not angry with me either.:)

Why Blogger is a disgrace to mankind!

Look at the background!! Just look at it! Its awful! I know, I know, you can't stand to look at it! Well, don't blame me! Its Blogger's fault. He's mean, and he hates me. Pray that he will come to know the Lord and repent.

Now, moving on! *ignores the fact that I haven't posted in a million years* Our normal pastor didn't preach today, we had a special speaker. And he preached an EXCELLENT sermon. And very interesting to the core!=)

Don't you hate all those movies, I am typically speaking about Hallmark movies, where they tell that you should "follow your heart"? I know I certainly do! I have always thought that it was one of poorest, lamest things I've ever heard!

At one point in his sermon he said something along the lines of this;

"If I were tell you that I had found a pastor for this church who was untrustworthy, a liar, a scoundrel, a troublemaker, a thief, and so on, would you trust him for your pastor?"

*crowd shakes heads*

"Of course you wouldn't! So why on earth would you trust YOUR HEART to be your "leader"?

GEN 6:5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

JER 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

And of course I was walking on air the whole day because me & some very dear friends of mine had a "debate" a few weeks earlier about this topic!

Arwen VS Eowyn: We view them as characters, not as biblical examples

Needless to say, the Arwen VS. Eowyn debate is very big in the blogging world(though not AS big as forums would go). Some people have said that 'the great debate' has gotten out of hand with some people, but I have failed to see anybody be down-right-mean or rude, so I am not afraid to write this post. Its amazing as Liv as once said, how so many different people, have so many different opinions, and that ladies & gentlemen, is so very true. Some people hate Eowyn & love Arwen, some think Arwen is okay, but EOWYN IS JUST DOWNRIGHT AWESOME! For the most part, people who hate Eowyn hate her because she tried to steal Aragorn's heart. Other reasons, because she was a feminist, and she rebelled against her uncle. People who hate Arwen hate her because she was a "daddy's girl", "TOO pure", she wears "immodest clothing", she's boring, she "drools over Aragorn".

In eternity, it will not matter in the least who we prefer, because they are JUST CHARACTERS! You are not a sinner for liking Eowyn! It does not make you any more godly if you like Arwen...........

That is IF you view them as characters........

You know its amazing because who we choose as our favorite characters, usually become are hero's. And our hero's usually become our role-models. So it is VERY important who we choose to admire!!!!!

I am being very honest with you when I say that the majority of people who prefer Eowyn, are feminist. They have no desire to be like Arwen, because she stayed under the protection of her father, and she realized that is the MAN'S responsibility to go out to war.

Eowyn WAS feminist! Eomer & Aragorn both have to put her back in her place. And please do not tell me that it was her culture, because it wasn't. "Those without swords can still die upon them", this quote does not mean that women have to go out war and prove their ability! Tolkien knew this! This quote means that women NEED to DEFEND themselves when necessary, just like Arwen did.

The arguement that Arwen wears "immodest dresses" is probably one of the most dumb arguements I've ever heard. I'm not telling you to copy Liv Tyler! Because that's who is really wearing the costume, NOT Arwen! Don't ever believe a word when people tell you Arwen was impure. As for Arwen "drooling over Aragorn", don't listen to that either. It was a dream, NOTHING more!

Girls,

You can never be "TOO pure", there is nothing wrong with being a "daddy's girl", and don't ever, EVER let anyone convince you that Arwen was "boring". Our mothers are some of our best role-models, and you know what? The World considers them to be wasting their time living a boring life. This is so untrue.

Thank you all for letting me write this all down! And if you read it all, that's AWESOME! I'm sure a lot of people won't. Soon, I'm going to try to write a post about Susan!

In Christ,

~The Lady of Light~

Return of the King

You guys know what to do!:) Just name your favorite parts from RotK!

One of mine is: No more despair

This part is just beautiful! And Theoden really expresses his love for his neice. A lot of girls today don't have that love, Eowyn was really blessed. A lot of people hate Theoden, but I just don't see how you could HATE him after THIS part! He's AWESOME!

Other Parts worthy of note:

2. Aragorn takes the paths of the dead

3. "A Far Green Country"

4. Arwen's Vision

5. The Fellowship Reunited

**********

Well, now its just up to you guys! I will let you choose SIX! Good luck!

Disappointed

For the past few days now, there has been a forum on the comment section. Whether Tolkien was Catholic or Christian we have been discussing. Linisil, has placed doubts in our minds about Lord of the Rings being Christian. Well, I have something to say to you Linisil, why has so many people gotten saved over it? An even better question, If these movies are so Catholic, Why are YOU watching them? If they teach things against the Bible, shouldn't you have thrown them in the trash?

Lord of the Rings is my favorite movie of ALL TIME, and I assure you all, I would never choose a Catholic's work to be one. No, even Peter Jackson(who in no knowledge is Christian) realized Tolkien's true for Christianity. When asked if he would keep Tolkien's themes in the movies...

"Of course I am! If you take out Christianity you have nothing left!"

If someone who is not even believed to be a Christian sees it, shouldn't we?

"I not only believed that they should know the Christianity, I thought they should study it. So I gave them all this Bibles, and said ,This is your character, now study who you are!" Peter Jackson referring to the cast.

I'm Back

I know I have not been the best at updating my blog, but I simply had nothing to write about. I would rather not write at all, then just go,and ramble(which I am known for doing).

So since I have nothing t
o talk about, lets play a game. Since all of my followers have watched LotR, we are all going to tell our favorite parts from Fellowship of the Ring. AND IT HAS TO BE FROM FELLOWSHIP. We will do "The Two Towers", and "The Return of the King" later. But remember you can only limit to three different parts.

I'll start...

My first favorite would have to be, The departure of Boromir. Well, just the whole scene actually. Though it would not be nearly as special to me if I had not read the movie book. Boromir is just so humbled in his dying scene. I cry each time I see it.

Okay, now its your turn!

As you can see...

...I love Lord of the Rings. Some Christians may ask, "Why would you watch an evil, satanic movie like that?" Well because its not. In fact, its just the opposite. My favorite thing to do while watching it, is looking for the Christian themes, and their are a LOT of them I assure you. If you have any questions WHATSOEVER, ask me. Please, I love them. So this blog will basically be just a lotr blog.;)

~The Lady of Light

Its great to be here!

Hi everybody!
I welcome whoever you are to my blog. I will share my thoughts, and ramblings. So I hope you stop by another time soon if you can!

Love you all!
